Recently I brought my 5 year old grandson on a walk around the beautiful Gums Loop track. He had such a great time as there were dinosaurs hidden all along the track. We also hid some painted rocks for other people to find.
Ollie loves Geocaching with me, and has asked me a few times if I would help him place a geocache of his own. So we found a good hiding spot and decided what we would use for a container. He hopes you enjoy finding his cache.

The Wainuiomata Regional Park has a number of walking tracks of various terrains. It also hosts the oldest Geocache in New Zealand, GC46. There are also caches to find along the Sledge Track and Tana Umaga Track. Please keep dogs leashed at all times as this is a kiwi area.
You can start the Gums Loop Walking Track from either of the parking spots in the waypoints. This is a beautiful, easy walk, ideal for all ages and fitness levels. The track gently winds through a beautiful lowland forest with native trees and towering gums.
