WIDMO – duch, zjawa, niematerialna istota z innego świata albo też złudzenie takiej istoty. Pojawia się nagle i nieoczekiwanie, równie nagle i nieoczekiwanie znika. Jego pojawieniu się towarzyszy aura tajemniczości. Występuje w mitach i legendach wielu narodów.

Ale mianem WIDMO określa się nie tylko istoty, lecz także niematerialne wizje niektórych dzieł ludzkich np. statek widmo. Lub stację benzynową, która się pojawiła, ale nie chce zniknąć! Legenda głosi, że to nietrafiona inwestycja lokalnego biznesmena, który zaniechał kontynuacji po politycznych przepychankach Urzędu Miasta i GDDKiA w kwestii przebiegu planowanej obwodnicy Szprotawy. Stacja benzynowa miała stać własnie przy tej obwodnicy, która została jednak poprowadzona inną trasą i rentowność biznesu stanęła pod znakiem zapytania. Trzeba być dobrej myśli i mieć nadzieję, że stacja kiedys zniknie i legenda się dopełni.

SPECTER – a ghost, apparition, or immaterial being from another world, or an illusion of such a being. It appears suddenly and unexpectedly, and disappears just as abruptly. Its appearance is accompanied by an aura of mystery. It is found in the myths and legends of many nations.
But the term SPECTER refers not only to beings, but also to immaterial visions of certain human creations — for example, a ghost ship. Or a gas station that has appeared but refuses to disappear! Legend has it that it is the failed investment of a local businessman who abandoned the project after political squabbles between the City Hall and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) regarding the route of the planned Szprotawa bypass. The gas station was supposed to stand right along that bypass, which, however, was ultimately rerouted — putting the profitability of the business into question. One must stay optimistic and hope that one day the station will vanish, and the legend will come full circle.
