The Church of St Augustine is an Anglican parish church in Clutton.
It was originally built around 1290, but much of it has been rebuilt since, and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building. The church is dedicated to St Augustine of Hippo.
The tower is made of red sandstone with diagonal buttresses ending in pinnacles and probably dates from 1728 but retains some 15th century openings. The tower contains 6 bells, the oldest being recorded as cast in 1680 and there is an active group of bell ringers in the village.
There are several war graves in the Churchyard and also the Grade II listed graves of the Purnell family and the Brodribb family (noted for their connection with the actor Henry Irving – real name John Henry Brodribb).
In 1780 John Wesley came to the church but was denied use of the pulpit, so he preached from a stone in the churchyard instead.
Near the church entrance is a commerative bench dedicated to Edith C Robbins.
