Mario Bros Enemies Fun Facts:
1. Bowser's name came from soup: In the original Japanese, Bowser was called "Koopa" or "Kuppa," which creator Shigeru Miyamoto derived from the Japanese name for a Korean dish, gukbap (a soupy stew served with rice).
2. Goombas were a last-minute addition: The iconic Goombas were the last enemy added to the original Super Mario Bros. game. Developers needed a simple, easy-to-defeat enemy after playtesters found the Koopa Troopas too challenging for the first level. Due to limited cartridge space, they created a single sprite and flipped it to simulate walking.
3. Bullet Bills, an enemy first appeared in Mario Bros. NES in 1985, is seen on the shirt of a character in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as a reference to his cannon-based profession.
