Tucked right in central Palmer is volunteer fire station 3-1, also known as Daniel M. Contini Memorial Fire Station.
Daniel M. Contini, former fire chief and esteemed member of the community, always participated in local Palmer activities such as Boy Scouts, Hunter Safety, Fire Safety, and even the school board. "Â Dan was known for his work with school children teaching them about fire safety and giving fire truck rides to the kids as part of a reading program." - Frontiersmen
