Walking in the Tidbinbilla Ranges is beautiful throughout the year.
This walk is challenging, and you should expect either a 9km plus return walk from Fishing Gap car park or longer if you intend to walk the entire Minjagari Trail. Your walk begins at 820MASL at the Fishing Gap Carpark (parking fees apply), then heads steadily up to Fishing Gap, before continuing on a steep foot trail up to the ridgeline, where the views are spectacular, with glimpses of the dam in the distance. Arriving at the cache you will be at 1390MASL

We have walked these trails several times with local bush walkers. In winter, once above the ridgeline, the walk can be covered in a dusting of snow, while in summer, the heat of the exposed areas can be tiring and plenty of water is a must.
This cache is a tethered EDC in rocks, in an open area, where you can stop and enjoy the views of this beautiful open area.
You will need to be comfortable with walking and navigating with offline maps, contour lines and comfortable with rugged bushwalking including some rock scrambling.
Phone signal can be limited, and so it is recommended to have offline lists and maps. Given the remote area, it is wise to walk in company, rather than alone, and to make sure someone knows where you are heading.
Plenty of water, food, sturdy walking shoes and warm clothing are important, since, at this altitude, the weather can change very quickly.
