Yohola: It appears there may have been a misunderstanding of property ownership and land use permissions here.
This has now been clarified, and geocache placement is not allowed on NPS property.

The Chief Ranger at Fort Pulaski National Monument of the NPS has requested that all geocache hides on National Park property be archived.

The Cache Owner has the responsibility now to pick up any container, or physical element of this listing, that has been placed at this location in a timely manner.

Geocache Description:

Off the ground and hidden by vegetation. This cache is accessible from the east end of the trail. A little more than a 2 mile walk but no obstacles like missing bridges from other entrance.

This cache is 20 years old on June 10 2021.  The contents listed here are no longer applicable. This is what was in it originally.   It is nothing like orighinl but still conntains pen and logbook.

In a small 1qt plastic container

  • “ty” “Twigs” toy animal
  • A Junior Park Ranger badge from Ft. Frederica National Monument
  • A foam drink can holder
  • A pair of pig ceramic salt and peppershakers
  • An “Earth Spirit charm necklace
  • A green ceramic frog
  • A Florida souvenir key chain (antique car)
  • An old folding beer bottle / can opener
  • A hand woven pot holder
  • A Christmas tree pencil
  • A shower cap,
  • A piece of shell ornament
  • A bar of fragrant soap
  • A “Sojourn Again” souvenir address book
  • An “Elizabeth Arden” purse mirror
  • A pack of Kleenex
  • 2 band aids.
  • A “Love Everyone” pin,
  • A Smiley Guy.
  • A tooth brush
  • Log book, pencils and sharpener.
  • AND “Porsche Spyder” the traveling spider. She is waiting for a lift to another cache site.

The cache is hidden from casual view. Please be careful not to damage the location and leave hidden. Pictures are fine in the area but please don’t show the container or the actual location. The above list was the original. The contents and log book were totally lost. A new log book and trinkets were placed 5/26/05. The listed contents are from the original hide. Several have asked if re-finds or OK. Definitely yes. It is currently accessible only from the east entrance of the trail due to hurricane washout of part of the trail between the west entrance and the cache.
