Geocache Description:

Kosuge Manyo Park is a park located south of Tokyo Detention Center. The ancient Sumida River once boasted abundant flow, but gradually diminished due to the Nakagawa irrigation project. It was later used as a drainage channel for miscellaneous wastewater, but its role ended with the development of the sewer system. Today, under the theme “The Meeting River, Ancient Sumida River,” efforts are underway to reintroduce lost wildlife and plants. Within the park, explanatory monuments mark the sites of the Kosuge Mint, where coins were once cast, and the Kosuge Palace. The walking path along the moat connects seamlessly, allowing visitors to observe carp, turtles, and ducks swimming gracefully.
