Geocache Description:

In view of the account from the FTF team I'm recommending wellies in wet periods. The attributes have been amended accordingly.

The wretched Hill-man has had his fingers burnt playing with real fishing boats, see GCB75B0, so has come to Ramsey to go to ground for a while. However some twerp told him that he should have stayed in Jurby "It's an island Yessir, the Killane River and the Lhen Trench are joined, take a li'l kayaky thing and you'll soon see. Once you're on the island no one will know it was you as went ashore by the church 'cos you've got a different kind of boat" That sounded good, so off he goes, lugging the kayak. The afore-mentioned twerp had a point, the two waterways are indeed connected, at any rate on OpenStreetMap and Thunderforest, but not on the Irish Sea charts so not really a sea island? It would have helped if Hill-man had read the map properly, this ditch doesn't go near Jurby! It seems to wander round until it joins a bigger one, which in turn ends up in the Sulby River and thence Ramsey. Oh well, lets see how far he gets, there's not a lot of water?

We've walked this path several times, it makes a pleasant loop of about three miles if you start in Ramsey and come out the Jurby road and back through the Dhoor and then the Mooragh. It can get really wet in winter, you have been warned!

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then, the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here: - Little Bridges Geocaching Series (littlebridgesseries.co.uk). If you would like to add to the series, please go to this site, on the tab Get Involved click number request and fill in the form. To qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
