Geocache Description:

Welcome to the McGovern-Stella Link Neighborhood Library!

This cache commemorates edition 6.0 of Robin_1 and CashQueen's Geocaching Film Festival (GIFF) 2025!

This is a little challenging multi that will give you a good tour of the library as you solve for the following final coordinates:

N29 4A.BCD W95 2E.FGH

The posted coordinates will take you to the Welcome Kiosk, where you will solve for A.  Take the number of pendant lights hovering over this wall and divide by 2.  This is your answer for A.

To solve for the other letters, go to each waypoint and answer the question in its description.

GPS signal may be difficult inside the building, but you should be able to find the location by hints in the description.

Be prepared to go off site for the final.

Good luck!

About the library

The McGovern-Stella Link Neighborhood Library has a rich history that reflects the city’s commitment to public education and community engagement. The library's development began with the naming of the $5 million, 20,000-square-foot facility, which was part of the Stella Link Redevelopment Association's master plan. This project aimed to create a state-of-the-art library that supports monetary gifts and serves as a flagship facility for the Houston library system. The library's design and renovation plans were influenced by the city's desire to renew the middle-income identity of neighborhoods and include features like a long-distance learning center and a Wi-Fi coffee bar. The library's expansion was made possible through significant financial contributions, including a grant from Dr. John P. McGovern, a noted physician and philanthropist. The library's design and renovation plans were revamped to accommodate the additional square footage, and the facility's completion was celebrated with the naming of the library in honor of Dr. McGovern.

The McGovern-Stella Link Neighborhood Library is not only a place for reading and research but also a community hub that offers various events and activities for residents and visitors. It has been praised for its well-maintained environment, helpful staff, and the wide range of books available. The library's design and features reflect a modern approach to library services, making it a valuable resource for both locals and tourists.
