🌲 Welcome to the Lumber Heritage GeoTour 🪵

Full of history and natural beauty, Pennsylvania’s Lumber Heritage Region spans 4.2 million acres across 15 counties. From sweeping forests and rolling hills to vibrant communities shaped by the lumber industry, come explore what makes North-Central Pennsylvania so special! This officially registered GeoTour highlights our favorite locations, from parks and forests to museums and monuments. Find 20 of the 23 caches to earn a limited-edition GeoTour coin, or find all 23 to unlock a unique souvenir added to your Geocaching profile.

Join us for the launch of the official Lumber Heritage GeoTour and be among the first to step into an unforgettable geocaching adventure through North-Central Pennsylvania! At this special kickoff event, you're invited to gather for a presentation from the Lumber Heritage Region and GeoTour organizers, who will share the rich history, stories, and significance behind the landscapes and locations you’re about to explore. Passports will be available to help you plan your journey and record your code words as you take on 23 total caches, spanning a variety of types and difficulties. Come meet fellow cachers, learn what makes this GeoTour unique, and get inspired to map out your route. Check back for more information closer to the event.

🎉 Event Schedule


9 am - Welcome to the Wilds Sonshine Factory.

9:30 am - Hear from Lumber Heritage Region representatives and learn more about the new GeoTour.

10 am - GeoTour officially publishes on Geocaching.com. (Adventure Labs to publish shortly after)

11 am - You're welcome to hang out until 11 am and meet with representatives from the Lumber Heritage Region. Ask questions, plan your route, and prepare for an exciting day of Geocaching.

Disclaimer: Starting at the Wilds Sonshine Factory and finishing in Warren, PA, visiting all 23 locations is expected to take over 20 hours and is designed to be completed over at least 2 days. Some of the locations have restricted hours, and many will involve completing simple field puzzles. Geocoins will not be awarded until Monday (5/18).
