Lithia & Driveway Fields might look like any other sports complex when you pull in. neatly lined fields, bright lights, and kids chasing soccer balls or sprinting for the end zone. Look a little closer and you will find one of Medford’s quieter corners tucked just off a dirt path near the soccer and football section. That is where this cache is hiding.
These fields are owned and operated by the City of Medford and make up the largest municipal installation of FieldTurf in the United States, with nearly 1.5 million square feet of synthetic grass in play. Since opening in May 2008 the complex has hosted more than 70,000 youth and adult games and generated over 160 million dollars in economic impact.
Your hunt will take you off the main pavement and onto a dirt path near the action. You do not need to step onto the playing fields themselves. Please respect fences, stay out of active game areas, and keep a low profile around players, parents, and coaches. This is a classic high muggle zone, so a bit of stealth will go a long way. This is not a quick park and grab, as you will have to walk from the parking lots nearby.
Once you make the find, sign the log and return the cache exactly as you found it so it stays hidden between games and can keep quietly watching the endless stream of matches at Lithia & Driveway Fields.
