On this quiet street outside Ashland you get a surprisingly big reward for a simple stop. Look south and you will see Grizzly Peak stretching across the skyline. On a clear day its long ridge frames the horizon. In late spring and early summer the slopes green up. by late season they take on that classic dry Southern Oregon look.
Grizzly Peak tops out a bit over 5,900 feet and sits on the rim of the Rogue Valley, with popular trails on the other side of the mountain offering views back toward Ashland and Medford. Wildfire has reshaped parts of the forest over the years, but the mix of recovering trees, open slopes, and rock still makes it one of the more recognizable summits above town.
Your task here is much easier than hiking the peak. This is a straightforward find, and the MPOR should make the hiding spot pretty obvious once you are at ground zero. There is no need to search near the nearby manmade structure or fencing. If you find yourself poking around boards or barriers, you have gone off script. Think simple, think logical, and let the hint guide your eye.
Take a moment before or after the grab to really look at the view. It is easy to drive this stretch of road a hundred times without noticing how well it frames Grizzly Peak. Then sign the log and return the cache exactly as you found it so future seekers can enjoy the same quick find and big view.
