Geocache Description:

Welcome to Orange

Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to travel to the Orange area in the beautiful Central Tablelands region of NSW for our 2026 Expedition during the weekend of the 20th-22nd March 2026.

Orange is around 250 km west of Sydney, and about a four hour drive from Sydney. Why not come along and make a long weekend of it, perhaps as a stop-over on your way home from the Tassie Mega Event in Sorell on the 7th-8th March.

There are lots of fabulous geocaches to be found in this region so why not team up with a few friends and enjoy a fantastic period of geocaching fun.

On the Friday evening, we will meet at the Robin Hood Hotel for an enjoyable dinner get-together.

There is no obligation to purchase food or drinks, so you can just come along to meet fellow like-minded geocachers, and join in for an evening of socialising.

Event details are as follows:

Date: Friday, 20th March, 2026

Venue: Robin Hood Hotel, 30 Burrendong Way, Orange

Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm for dinner

How to Find Us: Just look for the Geocaching NSW Logo sign displayed on our booked tables in the bistro area.

Menu: The club offers a selection of typical pub food including entrees, salads, schnitzels, fish, pasta, steaks, burgers, pizza as well as gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options. There's also a kid's menu. Visit the pub’s website to view the menu.

Cost: Meals can be paid for by individuals at time of ordering.

Bookings: To assist us with determining numbers for this event so tables can be booked, could you please indicate how many from your team will be dining with us in your “Will Attend” log. For example, if there are two of you, add @2@ in the log.  Based on the information provided in those logs, we will be confirming numbers with the pub on Wednesday, 18th March 2026.

The Robin Hood Hotel is situated within the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri Nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodianship of these lands, and pay our respect to the Elders of the Wiradjuri Nation past, present and future.

There is accommodation available around the Orange region. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.

Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.

Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so that you will receive any announcements that are made. If you have any questions, please contact us at: contact@geocachingnsw.asn.au
