“Wasp Head Origins: An EarthCache Gathering”
Join fellow geocachers for a special one-off celebration at Wasp Head—the site of the world’s very first EarthCache. On Thursday, December 11th from 9:30 am to 10:00am, we’ll gather at this iconic geological location to honour the origins of the EarthCache program and its impact on geocachers worldwide.
We’re delighted to announce that Gary Lewis, the creator of the world’s first five original EarthCaches, will be briefly in attendance. Gary is currently leading a tour of American visitors through NSW and Canberra, exploring geology and geocaches across the region—and Wasp Head is a highlight of their journey.
This event is a rare opportunity to meet Gary, hear stories from the early days of EarthCaching, and stand together where it all began.
Whether you’re an EarthCache enthusiast, a geology lover, or just excited to be part of geocaching history, come along for a friendly, relaxed gathering in a spectacular coastal setting.
Everyone is welcome—see you at Wasp Head!
