Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the above coordinates!

Cache Across Southern California 2026

Greetings gamers! Are you ready to explore video games through the ages? Find and locate one of the roughly 50 CASC geocaches across all 10 Southern California counties. As you find geocaches, you may stamp your passport to track your progress and turn it in at Signal's Island in San Diego to redeem your prize(s)!

Do not remove the stamp from the container, it is part of this geocache!

How do I use the CASC Passport?

Use the stamp in each CASC geocache and stamp any of the 25 small game tokens on the front page of the passport. At the bottom of each coin, write the GC code of the geocache that corresponds to the stamp provided. Then on the reverse side, circle or highlight the caches you found from the list. Doing these steps will increase efficiency and line management at Signal's Island.

CASC Prize Redemption

To qualify for prize redemption you must bring your completed passport to Signal's Island Goes M*A*S*H (GCBGC72) in San Diego on Saturday, October 3rd 2026. There are two award packages being offered: Silver and Gold. For the SILVER award, you must find at least 10 CASC geocaches in 3 counties. To qualify for the GOLD award, you must find at least 25 CASC geocaches in all 10 counties. Silver award includes a small geocaching goodie bag, but Gold award includes a complimentary CASC 2026 geocoin + the silver award prize. Only one prize package per qualifying account. Prize distribution will be on a first come first served basis.

Mario Kart

Mario Kart is the most popular and influential mascot party kart racer. It popularized the use of items in party racers, a staple of the party video game genre that introduces a degree of randomness and handicap for less skilled players.

The series is notable for its bright, colorful aesthetic, having a wide range of environments making up its course selection, from the expected racer aesthetics of Mario Circuit, to iconic Mario world locations such as Bowser’s Castle and Delfino Plaza, to wholly unique settings like Coconut Mall, Waluigi Pinball, Music Park, and the ever iconic Rainbow Road.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING THE CACHE

You may use the posted coordinates to find Mario.  He is riding with the information you need to find the final ammo can.  Or, you may follow these letterbox style directions....

1.  From the parking coordinates, walk across the street and head to the trailhead on the West side of the street.

2.  Follow the trail uphill to the first bridge.

3.  Descend a couple feet off the bridge into the dry creek and follow that East about 160 paces to its end, crossing the rocky cross stream at about 40 paces.

4.  On your right you will find Mario at about eye level when standing in the creek but you will need to ascend briefly to his hiding area behind wooden plant material common to the area.

Happy hunting and racing!  Don't forget to stamp your CASC Passport at the final location.

This cache was hidden in preparation for Signal's Island.
