Welcome to the Richard Best Memorial Park and Rest Area in Warra. I often stop here on my travels in the Western Downs, mostly just to stretch my legs and use the toilets.Whilst I've used the rest stop to have a snooze, I'm yet to stay overnight, although many travellers have. It's one of my favourite rest stops as I love being able to wander around and explore, and there is lots to look at here. A bit of a meander through history, you can find the former Warra Railway Station, Homebush windmill, heritage tractor and the historic Haystack School building, and the old Warra Jail.
In another lifetime there was a cache hidden elsewhere at the rest stop, and it was definitely time to see another one.
D1.5 because there is the possibility that it may take longer than it should. T1.5 because the grass surrounding the lock-up is not completely flat; and as Signal would say, "The cache is somewhat easy to get to and reach." The Scenic View Nearby attribute mostly refers to the historical aspect of the area.
