Geocache Description:

Welcome back to West Seattle! We’ve now entered the Big Dark, the colorful autumn leaves are all fallen, and the final Community Celebration Events to celebrate this 25th year of Geocaching are wrapping up soon. So, what to do now but place and find as many geocaches as we can fit into the short amount of daylight we have. Accordingly, here is a new batch of West Seattle “Needful Things” caches. These wordy cache titles are designed especially to help geocachers who enjoy the now-grandfathered word challenges. Here, in addition to getting your Smiley, the eight words and number in this title might be useful towards the Additional Logging Requirements (ALR) on word challenges. Refer to the linked “Needful Things” bookmark list for other titles in the series and to see which challenge types that these words meet.

həʔapus Village Park & Shoreline Habitat (formerly Terminal 107 Park) is an important archaeological, cultural, and ecological site that sits on the shores of one of the last remaining original bends of the Duwamish River. Located just off West Marginal Way across from the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center, the park offers more than seven acres of native landscape park area along a vibrant river shoreline. Here, you can launch a hand-carried boat to paddle to Kellogg Island and along the Duwamish River. Park hours are dawn to dusk.

Happy Caching!
