About SideTracked Caches
This two-stage multi-cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More information can be found on the SideTracked Series website at www.sidetrackedseries.info
About Denistone Station
Denistone Station is a quiet suburban station on the Main North Line. Built 51 years after the railway opened on 17 September 1886, Denistone opened 26 September 1937 with two side platforms, and built with provisions to be converted to island platforms at a later date. The western platform was converted on 24 October 1978, and the eastern platform on 27 November 1989 when the line was quadruplicated. In 2001, the station was earmarked for closure due to low patronage, but the community strongly opposed it, and the station was kept open. The station was upgraded with a lift to each pair of platforms, which was completed in 2023.
