Geocache Description:

*** Please replace exactly where retrieve, C/O should be right at GZ ***

Across from the Hope Town Hall stands one of the community’s more memorable wooden characters—a hand-carved bearded man emerging from a split tree trunk as if caught mid-peek. His face watches the street with a knowing expression, but circle around the carving and you’ll find he has a sense of humor too: a bare wooden backside carved into the reverse side of the tree. Many locals and visitors stop here for a chuckle and a photo.

This spot captures the quirky charm that Hope is known for. With its chainsaw carvings, mountain backdrop, and small-town personality, it’s the perfect place to hide a small treasure for those willing to look a little closer.

Your task is to locate a discreet container tucked near the wooden figure and his tree. Please be respectful of the artwork and the surrounding area—no need to move or disturb anything on the carving itself. Replace the container exactly as found and keep an eye out for muggles, as this is a public and often busy location.

Take a moment to enjoy the craftsmanship, snap a picture if you like, and welcome to another unique corner of Hope, BC.

Happy caching, and may the Watcher of Hope keep your secret safe!
