A very good friend of mine showed me this technique when I was visiting his stomping grounds. I wanted to give it a try here. I saw that there was a perfect place for this technique in this area.
I rated this a 2.0 terrain due to the roundtrip distance from the Handicapped Parking area. There is a wheelchair ramp at the parking waypoint and the trek is a wide, flat cement sidewalk the entire way, suitable for a wheelchair or scooter. So, I added the Wheelchair Accesible attribute. Just to the east of the parking is a Handicapped Viewing platform on the beach. You can park closer in the same parking lot.
The first stage is a beacon in the form of an Near-field communication (NFC) tag. You will need an app on a smartphone to read the NFC tag which has the second and final stage encoded as a text comment (likely at the bottom of the tag info). Even if your device reads the tag correctly it make take one or two tries to get the full information. This NFC tag should work with any reader but it was placed using the "NFC Tools" app which is free in both app stores. The NFC tag was tested with both major phone types before and after placement. You will have to get your phone very close to the tag, almost touching it.
