Lost Kiwi
Kiwi[a] are flightless birds endemic to New Zealand of the order Apterygiformes. The five extant species fall into the family Apterygidae[b] and genus Apteryx.[c][5][6] Approximately the size of a domestic chicken, kiwi are the smallest ratites (which also include ostriches, emus, rheas, cassowaries and the extinct elephant birds and moa).
DNA sequence comparisons have yielded the conclusion that kiwi are much more closely related to the extinct Malagasy elephant birds than to the moa with which they shared New Zealand.[7] There are five recognised species, four of which are currently listed as vulnerable, and one of which is near threatened. All species have been negatively affected by historic deforestation.

Little spotted kiwi A small kiwi , now extinct on the main land of New Zealand but some populations on small islands around New Zealand.
Okarito kiwi, rowi or Okarito brown kiwi living on the west coast of the South Island New Zealand.
Southern brown kiwi, tokoeka or common kiwi, found on the southern end of the south Island of New Zealand.
North Island brown kiwi found on the North Island of New Zealand.
Then there are the “Lost Kiwis” – 10’s of thousands of Kiwi traveler’s, roam this planet and can be found lost in most countries of the world. They can be spirited into visibility when some one says lets go to the Pub, happy hour is on. Also can be seen flocking together when any sporting athlete takes to any field around the world, sporting black uniforms with a silver fern on they ,are passionate people who punch well above the small population left in the Home Lands, called New Zealand.
