Geocache Description:

The cache is located between Zhengguantai (No. 4 Watchtower ) and No. 3 Watchtower, just before a challenging flight of steps.

Zhengguantai is one of the most representative watchtowers on the eastern side of the Mutianyu Great Wall. Also known as Mutianyu Pass, it consists of three watchtowers standing side by side. The pass was built in the 2nd year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1404) and held great strategic importance: one direction faced the northern tribes, one led directly toward Beijing, and another served as a shortcut to the imperial mausoleums.

The pass measures 40 meters long, 30 meters wide, and 20 meters high, with two levels. The lower level is interconnected, containing multiple rooms that were historically used for storing grain and stationing troops. From the battlements, you can enjoy an expansive view of the Great Wall stretching both inside and outside the pass.
