Cold Cache Crew 2026 presents...
Frozen Waterfalls - Tannery Falls

Located in Alger County, Tannery Falls is also sometimes called “Olson Falls” in honor of Rudolph Olson, a former member of the Michigan Nature Association. Locals sometimes refer to both Memorial and Tannery falls as the “Twin Falls” due to their proximity. Tannery Falls is a 40-foot waterfall, and much like Memorial Falls, the water flows above a cave and freezes completely during the winter. The falls can be accessed by following the same trail that leads to Memorial Falls. It is one of the less-advertised and -maintained falls in the area.
