Cette série de 20 géocaches traditionnelles vous invite à explorer le champ de bataille de Noordpeene, lieu emblématique du combat du 10 avril 1677, lorsque les troupes de Louis XIV, affrontèrent celles de Guillaume d'Orange.
La rumeur traverse les siècles…
À l’aube de sa retraite précipitée, Guillaume d’Orange aurait donné l’ordre de dissimuler un coffre renfermant la somptueuse vaisselle d’or de son campement. Le code permettant de l’ouvrir ? Perdu dans les brumes du temps… jusqu’à aujourd’hui ?
Grâce aux clés de déchiffrement fournies sur l’image, le secret pourrait enfin être révélé. Partez à l’aventure sur un parcours de 17 kilomètres, à pied, à vélo ou en voiture, et percez le mystère en découvrant des caches disséminées tout au long du chemin.
Chaque indice, une fois déchiffré à l’aide de ces clés, vous rapprochera du précieux sésame : un code de 5 lettres, rédigé en vieux Futhark, un ancien alphabet runique.
Ce code est la clé du légendaire coffre… Oserez-vous le retrouver ?
Si vous effectuez la série en drive-in, prévoyez de marcher un peu pour atteindre certaines caches après avoir stationné à proximité. Étudiez bien le parcours avant de partir afin de respecter la circulation locale. Les cinq premières caches peuvent être réalisées d'une traite, idéalement avec les plus jeunes. Veillez simplement à rester sur les trottoirs et à marcher prudemment : la sécurité avant tout, même en quête de trésor !
Pour préserver tout le plaisir de la découverte, merci de :
- Remettre soigneusement les caches en place après votre passage.
- Ne pas publier de photos des boîtes ou de leurs emplacements.
- Faire preuve de discrétion.
Et surtout, notez bien : le coffre se trouve à la Maison de la Bataille, qui n'est accessible que pendant les heures d'ouverture. Pensez donc à planifier votre parcours pour ne pas arriver trop tard !

This series of 20 traditional geocaches invites you to explore the Noord-peene battlefield, the iconic site of the battle of April 10, 1677, when the troops of Louis XIV clashed with those of William of Orange.
The rumor echoes down the centuries…
On the eve of his hasty retirement, William of Orange is said to have ordered the concealment of a chest containing the sumptuous gold tableware from his encampment. The code to open it? Lost in the mists of time… until now?
Thanks to the decryption keys provided in the image, the secret could now finally be revealed. Embark on an adventure along a 17-kilometer route, on foot, by bike, or by car, and unravel the mystery by discovering caches scattered along the way.
Each clue, once deciphered using these keys, will bring you closer to the precious door-opener: a five-letter code, written in Old Futhark, an ancient runic alphabet.
This code is the key to the legendary chest… do you dare to find it?
If you're doing the series of clues by driving, be prepared to walk a bit to reach some of the caches after parking nearby. Study the route carefully before setting off to avoid local traffic. The first five caches can be completed in one go, ideally with younger children. Just be sure to stay on the pavements and be careful as you walk: safety first, even when you're on a treasure hunt!
To ensure theat others esperience the joy of discovery, please:
- Carefully replace the caches after you've finished.
- Do not post photos of the boxes or their locations.
- Be discreet.
And above all, please note: the cache is located at the Battle House, which is only accessible during opening hours. Plan your route accordingly so you don't arrive too late!
No pencils are provided in the boxes; bring your own to log your finds.

Het gerucht heeft de tand des tijds doorstaan…
Aan de vooravond van zijn haastige aftreden zou Willem van Oranje opdracht hebben gegeven om een kist met weelderig gouden serviesgoed in zijn legerkamp te verbergen. De code om de kist te openen? Verloren in de nevelen der tijd… tot nu toe?
Dankzij de decryptiesleutels in de afbeelding kan het geheim eindelijk worden onthuld. Ga op avontuur langs een route van 17 kilometer, te voet, met de fiets of met de auto, en ontrafel het mysterie door de schatten te ontdekken die langs de route verspreid liggen.
Elke aanwijzing, eenmaal ontcijferd met behulp van deze sleutels, brengt je dichter bij de kostbare sleutel: een code van 5 letters, geschreven in het Oude Futhark, een oud runenalfabet.
Deze code is de sleutel tot de legendarische kist… Durf jij hem te vinden?
Als je de schattenzoektocht doet, hou er dan rekening mee dat je na het parkeren in de buurt een stukje moet lopen om sommige schatten te bereiken. Bestudeer de route zorgvuldig voordat je vertrekt om files te vermijden. De eerste vijf schatten kunnen in één keer worden gevonden, ideaal met jonge kinderen. Blijf wel op de stoep en loop voorzichtig: veiligheid staat voorop, zelfs tijdens een schattenjacht!
Om het plezier van de ontdekking te behouden, vragen we u het volgende:
- Leg de schatten voorzichtig terug nadat u klaar bent.
- Plaats geen foto's van de dozen of hun locaties.
- Wees discreet.
En het allerbelangrijkste: de schat bevindt zich bij het 'Huis van de slag' dat alleen toegankelijk is tijdens openingstijden. Plan uw route dus zo dat u niet te laat aankomt !
Er zitten geen potloden in de dozen; neem uw eigen potlood mee om uw vondsten te noteren.

⚔️ #12 [ALRVGO] Kapel van Maria, Troosteres der Bedroefden ⚜️
Kapel van Maria, Troosteres der Bedroefden, ook bekend als de Kapel van de Tom. De kapel werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1893 en in 1963 herbouwd naar aanleiding van de verbreding van de weg. In 2008 onderging zij een restauratie, waarbij onder meer een klein glas-in-loodraam werd geplaatst, ontworpen door een lokale kunstenares.
Vergeet niet de 4 runentekens tijdens de route te noteren: ze verschijnen meerdere keren en vormen een reeks van 5 letters waarmee je de laatste cache (#20) kunt openen!
