Well?
Has he done it?
Has our intrepid Trackables hero managed to win the race again this year?
It's that time of year again and the Trackables launched in Palmerstown in January 2025 have (more or less) been travelling for 12 months now. There is an interesting story about the involvement of the London, Ontario Geocaching Community in getting our Trackables started - more of that at the Event.
Which has put up the most mileage in those 52 weeks?
Which one got off to a great start and just .... stopped.
Were some lost without trace?
Geocache GCB2CEF (Start Line 2025) will give you some reminders and clues, although its not 100% complete. I am indepted to a Geocacher from Taiwan for setting up the records for me last year. (They also sent a Trackable from Taiwan with a Mission to reach Ireland and it made it to Germany where two of the Irish Geocaching Community went to retrieve it but unfortunately it was not at the listed Geocache).
On the question of the Images and Statistics on GCB2CEF, if any of you are familiar with how to get the necessary data from a Trackables page please have a word with me (Otherwise I'll have to dedicate another Statistics Event to figuring this out).
There is a unique Trackable (only 25 issued) available for the Race Trackable that has completed the most distance in the last year. There is a similar Trackable available for the Trackable that has covered the most distance since the Race series commenced.
Naturally I aim to launch another set into the wild this January. If you want to enter the 2026 race please do drop your Trackable into the Event and bring it you to the Event. Thanks to the generousity of our Community Volunteer I will have some spare Tags on the day.
This Event is upstairs in the 'circular' facility at the listed coordinates in Dublin Port. Public Transprot is available but poor. Food and Beverages are available to purchase in the downstairs shop but there is no obligation to purchase.
