CITO - COON BLUFF
January 11 (Sunday) - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon)
The posted turnoff coordinates are near the turn off to Coon Bluff Rd. Please follow the road down towards the far end of the parking area. The CITO coordinates are in the paved parking area near the trash bin (north end).
This is a fee area - there are numerous passes that meet those requirements. [From the sign at Coon Bluff: Interagency annual type passes (ie; annual, senior, volunteer, 4th grade & military passes); Interagency Lifetime Passes (ie; golden ages, access passes, senior passes, access pass; and Local Passes (ie; daily pass $8, discovery vehicle sticker USFS $4, Tonto National Forest discovery pass $80, Tonto National Forest Discovery Pass Senior & Access Discovery Pass $60)] (See attached pic) There is also a pic that lists a few of the places to pick up a pass if you opt for a day pass.
As usual, I will provide water. Please bring a grabber - it helps for reaching into those stickery bushes! And the weeds are very tall currently. Please provide the bag you will be using to pick up trash - perhaps a grocery bag. I will have some trash bags available also. Remember, this is a January date - dress accordingly. Gloves would be a great idea. Please wear a safety vest.
Sign in or let me know you're there, then feel free to pick up trash in the turnout areas along Coon Bluff Rd on the way down into the Coon Bluff parking area as well as the parking lot area and along the river. You may even see a Salty or two. (IYKYK)
If you log a "will attend' you should receive any announcements and updates, should there be any, that are sent out.
There are numerous geocaches in the general area by several different CO's. Some are puzzles, so have your thinking cap on! Make a day of it - visit the CITO. When you're done, then seek those sneaky cache hides.
Block off January 11th on your calendar. See you there. Let's do our part in helping keep our community clean.
