A quick park and grab letterbox/hybrid cache on the way south after leaving Mangaweka. ONLY ACCESSIBLE HEADING SOUTH due to the yellow lines on the road. Don't be an idiot and attempt to cross yellow lines when heading north. Instead, head north to the U-turn geocache and then come back south to pick up this one.
The rest area gives you a good scenic view out over the Rangitikei River catchment and views of the scenic eroding mudstone cliffs beside the river which a a distinctive feature of this region. Easy park and grab in a familiar hiding spot. Do be aware of muggles in the carpark and driving past at speed. That is, try and be stealthy. You know you can.
The cache contains a stamp, inkpad and notebook for those doing letterboxing. Please leave this in the cache. It is not swag, There is another logsheet for geocachers to sign. Take time to enjoy the scenic view.
