Blue Monday is observed on the third Monday of January. In 2026 that date is January 19. Whilst the “most depressing day” label has no clinical basis, it falls during a time when seasonal factors can significantly affect people’s mood and energy levels. That makes it a useful prompt for checking in – with yourself and others.
