Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates take you to the Village Sign at the triangular-shaped village green of Waterbeach. The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates – it is a Reverse Wherigo geocache.

To find this cache you will need to:
· Have a Wherigo-enabled device (e.g. smartphone with a compatible app)
· Download The Reverse Geocache – Beta cartridge to the device
· Visit the posted coordinates and then find the brass plaque on the wooden bench near the village sign

Answer the following:
A: HALSEY or LORDE? (if HALSEY, A=0; if LORDE, A=1)
B: LOW or HIGH? (if LOW, B=2; if HIGH, B=3)
C: FEAST or FAMINE? (if FEAST, C=4; if FAMINE, C=5)
D: GREAT or GRATE? (if GREAT, D=6, if GRATE, D=7)
E: PHILLIPS or FLATHEAD? (if PHILLIPS, E=8, if FLATHEAD, E=9)

Get the numbers for A to E and calculate the following three six-digit numbers to activate the cartridge:
(E-B) A (E-C) (C-B) (E-B) (E-D)
(E-1) (E-D) B (C-B) (E-D) B
A D C (E-B) (E-C) A

Playing the Wherigo cartridge:
· Like most Wherigos, the cartridge may appear a bit clunky, but persevere through the set-up and the simple game begins.
· Keep the three six-digit codes handy in case you need to restart the cartridge without saving.
· The cartridge tells you the current distance to the cache, but NOT the direction.

Waterbeach village green is roughly triangular shaped, with roads and paths leading away in multiple directions. So where is the final cache location?
Step 1: Guess which direction the cache might be and walk away from the village green.
Step 2: Stop and check your distance again. Are you getting closer (hotter) or further away (colder)?
Step 3: Choose your preferred method:
· Pen-and-paper / trilateration: Once you’ve checked the distance from a couple of spots, draw some circles on a map and find a nice intersecting point.
· Armchair: You can use cheeky online methods to give you the answer (far less fun).
· Blundering around: Our favourite way is to simply wander about, checking (many times) whether we are getting hotter (closer) or colder (further away). We always get there eventually!
Step 4: Finding the cache:
When you are within 25 metres of the final cache location, the program will display the actual coordinates. Go look for the cache – you can use the hint from the geocache listing, it won’t be in the Wherigo cartridge!

Miscellaneous
Feel free to tell us in your log how you found the cache and how many times you checked the distance.

Want to create your own Reverse Wherigo?
At the Final, you will also receive a ‘personal password’, stored in your cartridge inventory. You can enter the code into the Code Generator if you select ‘Create’ instead of ‘Play’ at the start of the cartridge. Credit: The Wherigo cartridge was made by -Waldmeister-, and their original cache is here. Let them know if you make your own Reverse Wherigo.
