Hafa adai, geocachers! This cache is hidden in the Asan Ridge Trail, which is part of the historic Asan Beach Park.
The cache is hidden at a fork from the main trail, which leads to a reinforced concrete structure set into the hill. The structure has a small opening and may have served as either a fire contol station or rifle/gun emplacement overlooking Piti. Some call this a pill box, pillow box, or bunker. You decide!
There are other fortifications on and around the ridge, as well as an ammo supply point halfway towards the cache. For more information on these fortifications, check out the National Park Service's War in the Pacific website.
There is no need to disturb any plants to find the cache. There is no need to go into the concrete structure. Please replace the cache as is and cover it back as before.
