Welcome to the second stop in the Jesse's Fishing Lure Swap series! This time, we’ve landed at the historic Aquia Landing.
Before this was a peaceful park, it was a massive transportation hub where steamboats met the railroad. During the Civil War, it served as a critical supply base for the Union Army. Today, the only "supplies" moving through here are the ones you’ll find in your tackle box! Whether you're targeting the famous Blue Catfish of the Potomac or searching for Northern Snakeheads in the creek, this is a prime spot for anglers.
This cache is a tribute to the fishing community. It is a small, weather-resistant container hidden near the public access area. It’s designed to be a "Take a Lure, Leave a Lure" exchange.
The Rules Of The Swap
If you plan on trading, please keep the following in mind to keep everyone safe:
- Safety First: If you leave a lure with a hook, please ensure it is hook-guarded or wrapped securely so the next cacher doesn't get a surprise poke!
- Quality Check: Only leave lures that are in usable condition.
- No Bait: Please do not leave any scented "soft baits" or organic matter, as this will attract critters that might damage the container.
- Standard Swag: If you aren't a fisherman, standard small trackables and swag are always welcome!
The Hunt
The park is open from 8:00 AM to dusk. The can pretty much be a park and grab. You do not need to climb any dangerous embankments or enter the water to find this one. Please be mindful of "muggles" (fishermen), as this area can get very busy during peak season. Use your stealth! Please ensure the lid is snapped tight and the cache is replaced exactly as found to keep it hidden from non-cachers. The container is a 5" x 1.5" black bison tube.
If you decide to do the swap please send me a photo of the lure you're putting in if you don't mind!

Every cache is a CITO if you bring a trash bag and pick up trash while caching. Let's clean the planet!
Congratulations on the Co-FTF:
