Prepare yourselves, geocachers, for a devilishly difficult series of Challenge Caches designed to test your skills and perseverance!
This series, 'The Devil's Dozen', celebrates the 'The Tassie Event', held in Sorell, Tasmania on 7-8 March 2026.
To conquer 'The Devil's Dozen', you'll need to successfully meet the requirements of thirteen unique and demanding challenges. Will you earn the right to sign the logs and claim these sought-after finds? Get caching, check your stats, and prepare to face the devil!
Challenge #7: The Long Haul Legend
This is a challenge cache, and the physical cache is at the posted coordinates.
Is your geocaching kit just a pen and a pair of sneakers, or do you have a backpack, a compass, and a sturdy pair of boots?
To claim a find on this challenge cache, you must prove that you aren't afraid to leave the pavement behind. We are celebrating the adventurers who go the extra mile—literally—to find the caches that most people never see.
The Challenge
To qualify for this cache, you must have found at least 25 geocaches that have the "Significant Hike" attribute (the hiker with a backpack icon 🥾) applied to the listing.

Earning Your Miles: Whether it's a coastal trek along the Tasman Peninsula or a climb into the Hartz Mountains, if the owner tagged it as a significant hike, it counts!

To claim a find you must meet the requirements of the Challenge:

If you sign the logbook and meet the requirements, log a 'Found It' log.

If you sign the logbook and do NOT meet the requirements, log a 'Write Note' and change this to a 'Found It' once you quality for the challenge.
