O FILHO DE NETUNO.
A 15 de fevereiro de 1986, naquela que é conhecida como a maior tempestade do século XX na ilha do Faial, com rajadas de vento superiores a 250 km/h e ondas até 30 m de altura, o proprietário do Café Sport de Pedro (José Azevedo) tirou uma fotografia de uma enorme onda que atingiu o ponto ocidental do Monte da Guia e quebrou até cerca de 60 m de altura, mostrando o rosto de Netuno, o Deus dos 7 mares. Segundo a mitologia romana, Neptuno vive debaixo das ondas e tem um mau feitio. Muitas vezes explode em raiva e cria tempestades violentas e ondas enormes. Foi durante esta tempestade de fevereiro que Neptuno foi fotografado a mostrar-se ao povo de Faial deste ponto de vista. Um momento único.
Este cache chama-se The Son of Neptune porque existia aqui um geocache até 2018, quando foi arquivado. Acho que este site merece um novo cache.

THE SON OF NEPTUNE.
On February 15, 1986, in what is known as the biggest storm of the twentieth century on the island of Faial, with wind gusts of more than 250 km/h and waves up to 30 m high, the owner of Peter's Café Sport (José Azevedo) took a photograph of a huge wave that hit the western point of Monte da Guia and broke to about 60 m high, showing the face of Neptune, the God of the 7 seas. According to Roman mythology, Neptune lives under the waves and has a bad temper. It often explodes in anger and creates violent storms and huge waves. It was during this February storm that Neptune was photographed showing himself to the people of Faial from this vantage point. A unique moment.
This cache is called The Son of Neptune because there was a geocache here until 2018, when it was archived. I think this site deserves a new cache.
