Dartmoor Adventures - Monthly Tors Event - 1 - Steeperton Tor
We are firing up the monthly Tors events in 2026 after stopping them in early 2024. We will be picking a Tor from our Dartmoor Tor Challenge book each month untill we have been to them all. There are 176 listed in the book so should take a little while before we resart. We love walking on Dartmoor as a family and cant wait to see more of it.
We plan on randomly picking a number from 1 to 176 each month which will determin the Tor for next month. The first number picked was 154 which is Steeperton Tor. Due to its location and the fact its Jan uary i think itll just be Mr NSCR at this one. We have checked firing times and there is no firing on the ranges on the 31st of January. Please remember that the weather on Dartmoor can change suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing!
Please Note: Although there will NO live firing in this Military Training Area on the day of the event, live firing and other pyrotechnics are used here at other times so the normal precautions still apply. Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all bylaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, marker posts, flags, lights or manned control posts.
