The Calgary Maker Magic Event, taking place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., is a creative gathering designed to inspire geocachers of all experience levels. This one-hour meetup brings together members of the local geocaching community to exchange ideas, techniques, and innovations that can take geocache creation to the next level. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a seasoned cache owner, this event offers a welcoming space to learn and connect.
At its core, the event is a “buffet of ideas,” where attendees are encouraged to share their own approaches to designing unique geocache containers, clever hiding methods, and engaging puzzle concepts. From inventive camouflage techniques to interactive and brain-teasing cache designs, participants will have the opportunity to both showcase their creativity and discover fresh inspiration from others. The collaborative nature of the event ensures a lively exchange of knowledge and creativity.

A. Container Builds – think beyond traditional containers
B. Camouflage Techniques – blend into environment
C. Puzzle Design – start simple, add layers
3. Hands-On Demo Cache (10 min)
4. Take-One Idea Board
A. Participants share ideas or sketches
B. Collect and share after event
5. Maker Challenge
A. Build a recycled container cache
B. Create a multi-step puzzle
