River Chess Clearance and Tidy Up
Date: Wednesday 4th February 2026
Time: 10am to 12pm
Tasks: Chesham Environmental Group (CEG) would appreciate our support to return to the River Chess behind the swim&Gym lido and cafe, to complete some or all of the following tasks, depending on what is required on the day.
- We will be cutting back the vegetation and overhanging branches along the back stream behind the Swim & Gym (now called Chesham Moor Gym-Lido-Cafe).
- We will also carry out a general tidy up of the Moor Road area.
Litter pickers and bin bags will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and gloves. There is a selection of sizes of waders available. If you want to ensure that we have your size available, please send a message in advance of your boot size. The largest size currently available is 10. Meet at 10am at the Chesham Moor car park on Moor Road (see the additional waypoint).
Please aim to arrive as close to 10am for delegation of tasks for the session as some of us may be spread out across the far corners of the area litter picking. whilst others may be behind the swimming pool in the allotments area. If you think you'll arrive late, please do let me know, and do head for the headline coordinates to seek out the tasks for the session. It is also important to sign in on the Chesham Environmental Group's register so you are covered by their insurance. This takes place at 10am. It also gives them an idea of how many volunteers help them throughout the year. I will have my own logbook, which will be available to sign at the start and end of the CITO.
