Berkhampstead Field Community Meadow CITO

Time: 10am to 12pm
Tasks: Chesham Environmental Group (CEG) would appreciate our support to return to Berhampstead Field to complete some or all of the following tasks, depending on what is required on the day. The main tasks are likely to include the general maintenance of the bug hotel, slow worm hibernaculum and mats, reshaping the field hedgerows which will enhance the habitat, and look at ways other of enhancing the hedges further by informal planting with various fruiting trees within the hedge, wildflower planting on the sunny side edge of the hedges and a thorough litter pick.
Tools are available but you may want to bring your own. Litter pickers and bin bags will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and gloves. Meet at 10am at the posted coordinates at the top of the field. Please refer to the additional waypoints for access to the field and parking.
Please aim to arrive as close to 10am for delegation of tasks for the session as some of us may be spread out across the far corners of the area completing the various tasks. If you think you'll arrive late, please do let me know, and do head for the headline coordinates to seek out the tasks for the session. It is also important to sign in on the Chesham Environmental Group's register so you are covered by their insurance. This takes place at 10am. It also gives them an idea of how many volunteers help them throughout the year. I will have my own logbook, which will be available to sign at the start and end of the CITO.
