Hallo lieber Sucher,
dein Weg kann dich hierher nicht immer über gut ausgetretene Wander- und befahrene Waldwege führen. Auch wenn du hier viel Natur erlebst, ist nicht alles natürlich, sondern Teil einer Kulturlandschaft. Seien es die Äcker und Wiesen oder auch die Wälder und Bäche. Alles wurde vom Menschen so angepasst, dass die Natur dem Menschen am besten dient. Sümpfe wurden trockengelegt, um so Weidefläche und Ackerboden zu schaffen (zugegeben mit nicht ganz so guten Bodenwerten). Wälder werden so bewirtschaftet, dass der Holzertrag gewinnbringend ist – meist mit Kiefern. Auch die Bäche wurden begradigt, um do effektiver die Acker- und Waldflächen landwirtschaftlich zu bearbeiten.
An dieser Stelle stehst du am Steinerfließ, welcher im Glogau-Baruther Urstromtal entspringt (zwischen Jänickendorf und Holbeck) und als Wassergraben klassifiziert wird. Er fließt in Woltersdorf als rechter Zufluss in die Nuthe und hat verschiedene eigene Zuflüsse durch (Melorations-)Gräben.
Das Steinerfließ hat ab hier stromaufwärts einen recht natürlichen Lauf und fließt in geschwungener Form durch einen Wald. Insbesondere die ersten 150 Meter stromaufwärts sind hier sehr schön. Hier wird verdeutlicht, wie die schon ohnehin schöne Natur in dieser Gegend mit seinen weiten Fluren und brandenburgischen Wäldern noch schöner wird, wenn die Natürlichkeit zu Tage tritt.
Wer darüber hinaus mehr über die Natur erfahren möchte, feindet, wenn dem Bach aufwärts gefolgt wird, einen Waldweg. Dieser ist Teil eines Naturlehrpfades, welcher sich hier durch die Wälder schlängelt (Startpunkt des Pfades ist am Forsthaus Lindhorst). Ca. 150 Meter Nordnordost vom Versteck ist ein kleiner Pavillon an diesem Naturlehrpfad aufgebaut. Hier besteht als Naturbeobachter die Aufgabe, 11 Tiere zu entdecken. Der Naturlehrpfad ist vor allem für Kinder zu empfehlen.
An der Stelle des Geocaches wurde versucht, den Bach aufzustauen und ein kleines Wasserspiel zu installieren. Überreste sind noch zu erkennen. Daher möchte ich den Cache „Staudamm“ benennen.

Even though you experience a lot of nature in this place, not everything is truly natural — much of it is part of a cultural landscape. This applies to the fields and meadows as well as the forests and streams. Everything has been shaped by humans so that nature serves human needs as effectively as possible. Swamps were drained to create pastureland and arable soil (admittedly with not the best soil quality). Forests are managed in a way that ensures profitable timber production — mostly pine. Even the streams were straightened to make agricultural use of the surrounding fields and forests more efficient.
At this spot you are standing at the Steinerfließ, which originates in the Glogau–Baruth glacial valley (between Jänickendorf and Holbeck) and is classified as a drainage ditch. It flows into the Nuthe at Woltersdorf as a right‑hand tributary and receives several inflows from drainage channels.
From here upstream, the Steinerfließ follows a rather natural course and winds its way through a forest. The first 150 meters upstream are particularly beautiful. This stretch shows how the already lovely nature of this region — with its wide open fields and Brandenburg forests — becomes even more beautiful when natural features are allowed to emerge.
Anyone wishing to learn more about nature will find a forest path if they follow the stream upstream. This path is part of a nature trail that winds through the woods here (the trail begins at the Lindhorst forester’s lodge). About 150 meters north‑northeast of the cache location, a small pavilion has been built along this nature trail. Here, observers are given the task of discovering 11 different animals. The nature trail is especially recommended for children.
At the location of the Geocache, someone once attempted to dam the stream and install a small water feature. Some remnants can still be seen. For this reason, I would like to name the cache “Staudamm” (“Dam”).
