Lord of the Rings fans will recognise the feared name of Shelob, the “evil thing in spider form” that tried to stop the good Hobbits in their quest. If you are new this this epic tale, there is some background on Shelob on Wikipeda here.
Shelob has stored away a box in her lair near this track for you to find and enter your name in the logbook (if you dare). While you are seeking the treasure, please do your best to not disturb the webs of Shelob around the hide, as they provide great camouflage in this rather public spot.
Note that your GPS tool will probably not provide a highly accurate reading under the tree canopy here, so do look at the hint for some help rather than trampling the scenic area. THE CACHE IS WITHIN ONE SHORT STEP OF THE TRACK.
