Geocache Description:

UPDATE: April 2, April 9, 2026, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

The Route 2 Cache Corridor – Event Series is a five-event geocaching series highlighting local businesses, gathering spots, and a park along Maryland’s historic Route 2, traveling from Glen Burnie toward Annapolis throughout the year on the 2nd day of each chosen month. To make it more fun and to tie the series together, attendees can participate in the Route 2 Cache Corridor Passport. Passports (see below) will be stamped at each event, and geocachers who attend at least 4 of the 5 events will earn commemorative swag, available at the final event. One missed event is allowed, life happens!

Each event stands on its own, but together they tell the story of the communities connected by Route 2, offering geocachers a chance to explore, relax, socialize, and of course geocache along the corridor.

For Stop #2 of the Route 2 Cache Corridor, we’re gathering at a place that feels as familiar as the road itself.

Ann’s Dari-Creme first opened its doors in about 1950 as a small roadside stand when a hot dog cost just a few cents. Named after Ann Hines, the original owner’s wife, this classic spot has truly stood the test of time on the Route 2 corridor, serving up famous foot-long hot dogs, ice cream, and milkshakes for over 75 years. Despite significant changes around it, this small local favorite has remained, despite the odds, drawing generations of families who come back again and again for familiar flavors and family-friendly vibes. Much like geocaching itself, this event location is about tradition, shared experiences, and returning to the places that make a community feel like home.

No purchase is required to attend this event. **Bring a chair and join us in the parking lot (no space to sit inside).** Whether you plan to eat, grab a shake, or simply socialize and talk all things geocaching, it should be a blast (don’t forget your Passport). Swing by for a few minutes or stay for awhile.

So come and join me — don't forget your travel bugs to be discovered and/or swapped! — as we make our way down Route 2!!
