You are welcome to post a picture of the signed log and/or give minor information in your online log, but we'd like to keep the cache & hide details a secret!
None of the caches are located at the posted coordinates; however, all required information for most caches can be easily found on the cache page. Be sure to enter the actual coordinates into the Solution Checker box below to update the location. To the right of this description, you’ll find a List option that allows for quicker GPX downloads to your GPS or offline downloads to your phone app, you will not have a phone signal for part of this series.
The geocaches in this series follow the original Monopoly board game layout, except there are NO Income or Luxury Taxes to pay. GotoJail does not send you backwards to help keep you moving in a clockwise board game movement. Additions are a BONUS cache and an additional extra location, bringing the total set of geocaches to 35 caches.
You may complete the caches in any order, but they are arranged clockwise just like the game board. IMPORTANT: All caches with extra steps are set up to be completed in a clockwise direction, just like the original game board. Extra information may be found that utilizes N 43 4A.BCD W 074 1E.FGH
The Properties and the Railroads are more classic simpler hides, ❄Winter Friendly ❄, and should keep the game moving. We found many times the coordinates were spotty throughout the trail, so please don't expect perfect GZs. We did add more hints as a result and will add more if there are struggles. Within each set of Property caches there will be information to gather for determining the coordinates for the $$35 MONOPOLY ADK BONUS cache. The other caches are not so classic, not necessarily winter friendly, and will require more time and solving, but hopefully more fun and smiles also!
Can the series be completed in one day? Does anyone play a full game of Monopoly in one sitting?? Possibly, if you start really early in the morning. We look forward to reading logs to see the quickest it is fully completed and will update the description accordingly. If you want to make a couple adventurous days out of it there is a Lean-to Camping site half way through the series at John Pond outlook or plenty of places to stay in the area. We also have 7 other cache series in the area, so stay the week! Please be aware that the trail can be muddy and very buggy. Bring the hiking boots and bug spray. Early spring, April to first week of May, is typically muddy with almost no bugs. Black fly season—around Mother’s Day to Father’s Day you may want to avoid. Then general mosquito season is in June, July, and early August. Late summer into early September is often drier with fewer bugs. Fall season brings hunting activity, so caching is best avoided until mid-winter. Then winter is bug free but many of the series' geocaches will not be accessible as that time.
