
The bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth II in Newmarket, was unveiled by Her Majesty on November 3, 2016.
Created to mark her 90th birthday, it depicts the Queen in 1977 the year of her silver jubilee, with a mare and foal, celebrating her close relationship with the town and horse racing.

Key Details About the Statue:
- Location: Situated on grass between Birdcage Walk and the High Street, near the Rowley Mile Racecourse entrance.
- Design: The 120% life-size bronze statue, is set on a Portland Stone plinth, and portrays the Queen in 1977, the year of her Silver Jubilee, with a mare and foal.
- Artists: Created by sculptor Etienne Millner and equine artist Charlie Langton.
- Significance: It was a gift from the town to the Queen, recognizing her role as a passionate supporter of horse racing and her frequent visits to Newmarket.
- Unveiling: The Queen officially unveiled the statue on 3 November 2016.
