THE ACADIAN FISHERMAN
He stands in the harbour in North Rustico.
This six foot bronze statue is located in the water just off the shore of the Seawalk Park. It illustrates the importance of the fishing industry in the area.
The Fisherman Statue represents the Acadian Fishers of the 1920's who used hand lines to catch fish, an enviromently friendly method which was labour intensive. His right hand holds the hand line and in his left a cod fish. .
To receive credit for finding this virtual cache, your log must contain a photo of yourself and/or a personal item with the Acadian Fisherman in the background. Any log not containing a photo WILL be deleted.
