I have brought you to Estuary View to enjoy the stunning vista directly in front of you. Many moons ago, I learned my mapping skills at this location, using an OS map and a silver compass to calculate distances and interpret topographical features. Today, we rely on handheld devices such as our phones or GPS.
On a clear day you can see the estuary, the tors of Dartmoor, and up the river towards Exeter. Estuary View is part of the Pebbled Heaths National Nature Reserve (NNR) and is the largest area of lowland heath remaining in Devon. This unique landscape has been shaped by the underlying Triassic geology and by people living and working with nature for thousands of years.
As you enjoy the view, listen for the scratchy call of Dartford warblers, the melodic song of skylarks, and the call of stonechats which resembles two pebbles being knocked together. On summer evening's the mysterious nightjar can be heard churring.
There is NO HIDDEN PHYSICAL CONTAINER as this is a Virtual Cache, but you do need to visit the Information Board, The Plinth, and one of the carved benches to log this cache.
