Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Llano County Courthouse Square.

Well, there’s already a cache called *Llano Courthouse Square* which you should check out.  That’s a traditional.  This is a VIRTUAL.  The coords take you to our Confederate soldier statue.  You should visit the other 8 monuments on the square.

Llano County is proud of its military contributions.  Here you will find monuments from the Texas Revolution, the War of Northern Aggression, both World Wars, Afghanistan, Iraq, Korea, Viet Nam, Desert Storm, a Tejas Pecan Tree, the Texas Sesquicentennial, and the sculptor of this statue and many others.

There is a survivor of the Goliad Massacre in the city cemetery.  He has is own Historical Marker (and incidentally, a cache).

It is usual to find the names of war dead on monuments.  Unusually, maybe uniquely, the stone for Desert Storm names everyone from the county who served there.  At this writing, I know several of the veterans whose names are listed.

THIS IS A VIRTUAL cache, so there is no container to look for.  To claim this find, email or message me the Answers to these questions:  On the south side of the square, at the end of the row of monuments, there is cast in brass a copy of a letter.  How much corn is mentioned in the letter?  Be specific.

2.  And this question:  On the back of the Desert Storm monument, what is the third name from the bottom in the column on the left?

3.  With your log Post a photo of yourself or someone in your party or a personal item with a monument or the courthouse or even a store across the street.  Include something Texan or patriotic in the pic, i.e. a pin, flag, coonskin cap, fatigues, hunting dog, or anything with an eagle, star, or the colors red, white, and blue.  A rodeo belt buckle?  No Spoilers!  Do not include the answers, the letter or any part of the plaque in the photo.
