Ristafallet är en vacker plats beläget strax innan Undersåker i Jämtland, Sverige. Fallet är 14 meter högt och 50 meter brett. Det brusar vilt och vackert. Under vårfloden kan flödet vara upp till 400 kubikmeter / sekund. När filmen om Ronja Rövardotter (en bok skriven av den svenska barnboksförfattaren Astrid Lindgren) skulle spelas in år 1983 letade man efter en lämplig miljö för att gestalta Glupafallet. Det blev just Ristafallet som valdes till inspelningsplats. Även Ronja och Birks älvfärd spelades in nedströms. Tar du stigen och följer den längst med älven så kan du idag finna en träskylt som påminner oss om detta. Fortsätter man en bit till utmed norra älvstranden och följer vandringsleden där så hittar du till Sankt Olavs källa. Redan på medeltiden stannade pilgrimerna här för att släcka sin törst på väg till Nidaros (Trondheim, Norge) och Olov den heliges grav. Idag går Sankt Olovsleden förbi denna plats som ger en stunds vila och eftertanke i den vackra och rofyllda naturen utmed Indalsälven.
Ristafallet och naturen omkring fallet betraktas som skyddat naturområde och är fridlyst enligt svensk lag. En skogbevuxen ö delar av fallet i två delar, den norra och den södra delen. Ön skärmar av fallets halvor, så att den norra halvan inte går att se från den södra stranden och vice versa.
Jag hoppas ni ska uppskatta platsen lika mycket som jag. Då detta är en av min favoritplatser i världen! Lika vackert så väl sommar som vinter..!

Ristafallet is a beautiful place located just before Undersåker in Jämtland, Sweden. The fall is 14 meters high and 50 meters wide. It roars wildly and beautifully. During the spring flood, the flow can be up to 400 cubic meters / second. When the film about Ronja Rövardotter (a book written by the Swedish children's author Astrid Lindgren) was to be filmed in 1983, a suitable environment was searched for to depict Glupafallet. It was Ristafallet that was chosen as the filming location. Ronja and Birk's river journey was also filmed downstream. If you take the path and follow it along the river, you can today find a wooden sign that reminds us of this. If you continue a bit further along the northern river bank and follow the hiking trail there, you will find Sankt Olav's spring. Already in the Middle Ages, pilgrims stopped here to quench their thirst on their way to Nidaros (Trondheim, Norge) and the grave of St. Olov. Today, the Sankt Olovsleden trail passes this place, which provides a moment of rest and reflection in the beautiful and peaceful nature along the Indalsälven River.
Ristafallet and the nature around the fall are considered a protected nature area and are protected under Swedish law. A forested island divides the fall into two parts, the northern and southern parts. The island screens off the halves of the fall, so that the northern half cannot be seen from the southern shore and vice versa.
I hope you will appreciate the place as much as I do. Because this is one of my favorite places in the world! Equally beautiful in summer as in winter..!
