Nobel Peace Center
The Nobel Peace Center is the museum for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Peace Center was established by a resolution from the Storting in 2000, and was opened in 2005. The Nobel Peace Center communicates the ideas and work of the Peace Prize winners to inspire small and large changes for a more peaceful world.
The Nobel Peace Center is the public face of the Nobel Peace Prize. Based on the history of the Peace Prize and the laureates, the Peace Center offers exhibitions, events, activities and digital communication. Since its opening in 2005, the center has been internationally recognized for its commitment to documentary photography and has developed into an important arena for public debate and conversations about peace, human rights and dialogue.
The Nobel Peace Center is centrally located on Rådhusplassen in Oslo, in the main building of the disused Vestbanestajon station. In a normal year, the Peace Center welcomes over 200,000 visitors, including several hundred school groups
