Elbląg is a charming city situated on the Elbląg River, close to the Vistula Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Its rebuilt Old Town delights with atmospheric tenement houses, cobblestone streets, and the Gothic Market Gate offering a viewpoint. The biggest attraction of the region is the unique Elbląg Canal with its famous “ship on grass” cruise – one of Europe’s most fascinating engineering marvels. In the city center, it’s worth visiting the monumental St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Church Path with its interesting sacred heritage sites. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful weekend filled with history, good food, and proximity to nature.
