Fr : Au travers de cette cache virtuelle, nous allons vous relater l'histoire du premier Grand Prix de L'Automobile Club de France, précurseur d'une série d'épreuves poursuivies sur plus d'un demi-siècle.
Cette course historique s'est déroulée il y a cent vingt ans chez nous dans la Sarthe, les 26 et 27 juin 1906 et fut mémorable.
Tracée sur un parcours triangulaire de 103,108 km ; formée entre la fourche du camp d'Auvours, Saint-Calais et La Ferté-Bernard. Sur la Nationale 23 à 1,2 km de la gare de Pont-de-Gennes, on installa les tribunes officielles, qu'ils s'agissent de celles des dirigeants parisiens ou des sportmens sarthois, contenant 2000 places aménagées avec un confort digne d'éloges. Celles de l'ACF, étaient plus luxueuses et d'une capacité de 5000 places. En face et reliées à elles par un tunnel sous la route qui existe encore de nos jours, les dépôts de ravitaillements.
Ce premier Grand Prix de l'ACF fait partie de l'histoire de la locomotion terrestre comptant dans la période de l'âge héroïque du sport automobile avant 1914 et donna naissance en 1923 à la célèbre course mythique des 24 HEURES DU MANS.

This historic race took place one hundred and twenty years ago here in the Sarthe region, on June 26 and 27, 1906, and was truly memorable.
Laid out on a 103.108 km triangular course, it was formed between the Auvours camp junction, Saint-Calais, and La Ferté-Bernard. On the Nationale 23, 1.2 km from the Pont-de-Gennes station, the official grandstands were installed, both those for the Parisian officials and the local sportsmen from Sarthe, containing 2,000 seats furnished with praiseworthy comfort. The ACF stands were more luxurious and had a capacity of 5,000 seats. Opposite them, and connected by a tunnel under the road that still exists today, were the supply depots.
This first ACF Grand Prix is part of the history of land locomotion, counting among the heroic age of motorsport before 1914, and gave birth in 1923 to the famous, legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
